The Chakras began recording their debut album in the UK and Ireland. Demos for the album began in early 2008 with producer Chris Potter(The Verve) in Metropolis Studios, London. Two tracks were completed but were eventually discarded. In July of 2008, Jaz Rogers took over the production duties and began recording the album at Cauldron Studios and Grouse Lodge in Ireland and in London. Most of the album was recorded in short stints between 2008 and 2009. The album is due for release in 2010.
Build Me A Swan, a digital/download single taken from the forthcoming debut album was released in June 2010. The track was recorded in Cauldron Studios, and was mixed by Chris Potterahead from the album Build Me A Swan which was released in 2011.
The Chakras feature ethereal sounds coupled with soaring melodies and a strong rhythm section. The heavy usage of reverb, pitch shifting and distortion has led to comparisons with bands such as My Bloody Valentine, The Verve and Doves. Always experimenting with sounds in the studio, the band has constantly striven towards creating “exciting and original sounding records”.
