I've never really written a review before, but fuck it, this gig was awesome.
The first thing I have to say in favour of The Cat Empire is that they get straight to the point. After the pretty much 'meh' set performed by the condescendingly indie ("You can like, add us on facebook, but personally I think it's a waste of time,") Tin Pan Orange, the entire venue looked on in anticipation as the instruments etc. were set up on stage in commendable time. It can't have been more than fifteen minutes from the end of the support to the beginning of the sonic event that was The Cat Empire's set.
They opened with Falling, one of their latest singles, and although crowd movement was limited it had an excellent vibe and served as a more chilled prologue to the sonic eargasm that was Sly. This got everyone on the main floor either jumping, dancing or skanking, and it was at this moment that I knew the following two hours would be immense.
