Biography
There are at least two artists with the name The Castros.
1. An US american indie-folk duo (active from 2006 to present)
2. An indie band.
1. The Castros are a husband and wife musical team that met in Savannah, Georgia in the summer of 2006. Their music began in a friend’s living room at that time where Sara taught Marco his first guitar chords. Since then, they have combined very different musical influences to create their sound, in an attempt to reflect God’s light and spread his colors to the listener through their songs.
Marco grew up in Costa Rica and has been influenced by a lot of musical genres and styles that range from heavy music to latin rhythms, and bands such as: Thrice, P.O.D., Vineyard UK and Blindside. Sara grew up in Ohio listening to Classic Rock and Folk music including artists such as: Jewel, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Norah Jones, etc. Their sound is a blend of earthy simplicity with energetic undertones and subtle intensity.
Now they reside in Columbus, OH, where they spend most of the time just being married and dreaming together for what is to come.They have played in several locations in the mid-west along with artists such as Rue Royale, Listener, Stillglow, Carolina Story, Deadhorse, Aaron Lee Martin, Jenny & Tyler, The Jox, Heather Evans, Richard Jordan, Mike Wojniak, DejaVu Latin Fusion and a lot of GREAT artists which have become friends along the way.
