Yeah, I'll never understand how so many people think this album is inconsistent, weak, uninteresting or whatever. After so many listens it's absolutely one of my favourite shoegaze albums and every track is gold to me.

the production is inconsistent because recording took place in many different locations before being cobbled together- into a surprisingly cohesive album.

"Production could have used more work though, in places it sounded way too weak to be a shoegazing album." - what, how? What does that even mean?!

I guess I liked it. Production could have used more work though, in places it sounded way too weak to be a shoegazing album.

It's not exactly as monolithically hallucinogenic as MBV/Slowdive and not as frantic as Ride, but it's good. It's sorta like Loop (automatically making it superior to Spacemen 3)... or maybe a slightly trippier Jesus and Mary Chain.

Loveless was without a doubt, the pioneer of distorted, gnarled yet simultaniously dreamy Shoegazer music, however dare I say it? Go on then.... I prefer this album. The BJM were definately on to something with this album, or on something. One of the other.
