...think this album gives 'making music' a new meaning - like: you can do what ever you want with a song as long as you keep a very close eye on the melody! to me this was a little revelation! a close encounter of the funny kind! but also very very touching!...

Actually, you're both right. "A little off" is a great way to describe the drums, and the Breeders music in general, but at the same time it's perfect. That woozy, could-collapse-at-any-moment fucked up quality is what gives them their charm. I love this album.

I'd say this was their best, however I find the drumming in a few of The Breeders songs a little, off. It's hard to describe but on 'Little Fury', I really notice it, it's almost as if it's so very slightly out of time, or the tempo is such that it feels held back, in the smallest way, but it drives me insane sometimes. 'The She' is my favourite Breeders song.

I found this album almost unlistenable. I much prefer Mountain Battles.
