Biography
There is more than one artist with this name:
1 The Blizzards are an Irish band from Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland formed in 2003. The band is made up of Niall Breslin also known as Bressie(Lead vocals & guitar), Justin Ryan (Lead guitar), Dec Murphy (Drums), Anthony Doran (Bass) and Aidan Lynch (Keyboards and acoustic guitar). They performed one song described as Ska but claim they are not a Ska-Pop band (recent radio interview).
The Blizzards signed a recording contract in 2006 with Universal Music Ireland after their debut single First Girl To Leave Town went to No. 11 in the Irish charts; making it the biggest selling independent release in Ireland in 2005. In July 2005 the band played the New Bands Stage at Oxegen in front of 2,500 fans.
In 2006, the bands second single Trouble was released and went to No. 6 in the Irish charts. The single stayed in the Top 40 for seven weeks. In July the band returned to Oxegen, this time on the NME Stage in front of 10,000 fans.
The bands next single Miss Fantasia Preaches was released in August 2006, followed by an album in October.
The album, titled A Public Display Of Affection, caused action in stores all over Ireland, and there is a high chance of them becoming very big, very soon. The album entered at No. 4 in the Irish album charts for the first week of its release.
