1) The Blackout are a band formed in 2003 in South Wales and drawing influences from across the board, they combine heavy crunching guitars, riffs, screams and thunderous drumbeats with beautiful melodies and emotionally driven vocals.

The band has played shows in and around the UK with the likes of Lostprophets, Funeral for a Friend, Fightstar, Avenged Sevenfold, dredg, 18 Visions, Thrice and Hidden in Plain View, My Chemical Romance and You Me At Six.

They were also nominated at the 2006 Kerrang Awards for Best British Newcomer but lost out to Bring Me The Horizon.

The Blackout released their debut mini album entitled ‘The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout!’ on October 23rd 2006 through Fierce Panda Records and the first single taken from it was ‘Hard Slammin’.

The album ‘We Are The Dynamite’ was released on October 1st 2007 through Fierce Panda Records.

Their new album, “The Best In Town” was released in the UK on May 25th 2009; the tracks ‘ShutTheFuckUppercut’ and ‘Children of the Night’ were available for early preview.

2) THE BLACKOUT was formed in the summer of 2007. The band is known for its’ unique old-school stoner rock influenced sound, which they are proud to bring into the Latvian music scene.

    This is our time is possibly my favourite song they've ever done. Probably between that and I'm a Riot. Yet it's only 24th in the last week chart. Hmm.

    I like Hope a lot. Some really good songs on it. Some underrated tracks on there imo. I do struggle with Start the Party though. The only songs on it i really like are take away the misery and sleep when youre dead. Though i kinda like the three non-cd bonus cover versions off itunes. Boom shake the room is funny!

    They were amazing last night at 02 Academy! Played their Best In Town album from start to finish and even threw in a few b-sides and covers. The moshing was great too but now my legs ache as fuck xD

    I don't get the hype about the latest album being crap! Yes the older albums are better, but the music on the latest album is still pretty good and is really catchy. Love this band :D [2]

    @K9Boomer: After I first listened to the Start The Party single I was so disappointed, and I thought that they are just going to start to be a "party band". And as much as I was prepared for the worst, I was surprised to enjoy the melodies, and it's sooo fucking catchy :'D Plus Sean is doing some more screaming again, god I missed that on Hope!
