About This Track

This song is dark and brooding, from the album “Shake Your Money Maker” (1990) there is an element of strange vodoo, of elusive magic. This song is about a young girl who has lost her child and has turned to drug addiction, it doesn’t comment on this as such but simply states her frame of mind. The song made it to 30 on the US Hot 100. The song hit number one as a single in 1991 in the US Mainstream Rock charts and number 70 on the UK Singles Chart.

This is one of those songs that you hear once and you never, ever forget it. Definitely a definitely track from the soundtrack of my childhood. Also, the track description on this page is in desperate need of editing. Not only does it open with an opinion, but that opinion is wrong. I don't see this song as "dark and brooding" at all.
