About This Track

“When I’m Sixty-Four” is a love song by The Beatles, written by Paul McCartney (but co-credited to John Lennon) and released in 1967 on their album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. It is sung by a young man to his lover, and is about his plans of growing old together with her. Although the theme is about aging, it was one of the first songs McCartney wrote, when he was sixteen.

Whew, I once saw an idiot trying to do the twist to this! It was horrifying! Then, I stepped away from the mirror and recovered quite nicely! Aside from all of that, anything that The Beatles do, with VERY few exceptions, gets multiple hearts & stars!!!!!

anything that fills a musical phrase with clarinet and bass clarinet is AWESOME!!!! Bitter and sarcastic??? Paul wrote it when he was 16......and his father was 64 at the time.
