"Wait" is a song recorded by The Beatles, from their 1965 album Rubber Soul. The songwriting credit is Lennon/McCartney, and the song is usually said to be a joint effort between the two, although in the 1997 book Many Years From Now, McCartney recalls it as entirely his. [2] The musicianship is extraordinary, but then, they are the Beatles where extraordinary was the norm. I mean, most groups if you told them the tracks from Let it Be would be their Greatest Hits they would be elated. To the Beatles it was a failure. I mean, look at their production, major artists today put out records every 2-3 years They put out one every six months. That was one reason why the break up, it was hard to keep up that kind of production and keep the quality high. They had to top their last effort or the critics would have ripped them to pieces. They also kept pushing the envelop with each record being different than the last. Most groups you hear one of their songs you have heard them all. That's why there so few really great ones.
