1 The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico
One would be hard pressed to name a rock album whose influence has been as broad and pervasive as The Velvet Underground and Nico. While it reportedly took over a decade for the album's sales to crack six figures, glam, punk, new wave, goth, noise, and nearly every other left-of-center rock movement owes an audible debt to this set. While The Velvet Underground had as distinctive a sound as any band, what's most surprising about this album is its diversity. Here, the Velvets dipped their toes into dreamy pop ("Sunday Morning"), tough garage rock ("Waiting For The Man"), stripped-down R&B ("There She Goes Again"), and understated love songs ("I'll Be Your Mirror") when they weren't busy creating sounds without pop precedent. …

14 Jun 2008, 07:33 by meherdmann1. Put your music player on shuffle.
2. Press forward for each question.
3. Use the song title as the answer to the question even if it doesn't make sense. NO CHEATING!
4. You HAVE to listen to the whole song that it selected.
5. If you can, write a little comment beside each song for each question.
1. How are you feeling today?
2. Will you get far in life?
Run Like Hell (a little ominous)
3. How do your friends see you?
Kim Gordon and the Arthur Doyle Hand Cream(crazy song but doesn't really apply)
4. Will you get married?
Thru The Eyes Of Ruby (and with this ring I wed thee true, with this ring I wed thee now, and with this ring I play so dead...you might find your love is gone and not quite what it seemed :( )

19 Apr 2008, 23:35 by JuttmanHello there. It is I. I figured will make a journal about my all-time favorite albums. Well, let's get started!
This is one of my favorite albums, and depending on when you're asking, my favorite Beatles album. While Magical Mystery Tour was the first Beatles album I heard, this was the first that really got me hooked. It has some of my all-time favorite songs, like I'm Only Sleeping and She Said She Said. At this point in their careers', the Beatles were in full-force psychedelic pop. From the opening studio banter in Taxman, to the fade out on Tomorrow Never Knows, one of their best songs, their is never a dull moment.
The Fury of the Aquabats
The Aquabats are really great fun. It is really the only ska band I really love. Their music has great energy, and it is fun and enjoyable for all ages. It is great music for rocking out to, as well. It is, for lack of a better phrase, "totally HxC!" The opening song, Super Rad, is one of the most famous ska songs of all time. …
17 Mar 2008, 04:32 by jonniewilksOK. I admit it. I'm a stats geek. A stato. Hence the following...
1. Favourite song by number 29?
My number 29 is The Shins. My favourite song by them would currently be Turn A Square.
2. Have you ever seen number 17 live?
Currently sitting at number 17 is The Buff Medways, so no, I've not yet had the pleasure. More's the pity.
3. What was the first song you ever heard by number 35?
First song by Pink Floyd? Probably Another Brick in the Wall Part 2.
4. What's your favourite lyric by number 8?
Hahaha. Yoko Ono's not known for her lyrics! I particularly like the "Uh-Urrrgh" sound in Give me Something.
5. How did you get into number 21?
Long story. Something to do with a skipped lecture, a dark afternoon, rainy weather, 4 or 5 pints of lager, a leather-clad biker. Odd way to get into Gram Parsons, I suppose.
6. Where were you when you first heard number 48?
I was in a friend's car, heading into Solihull, when I first heard The Libertines. I believe the song was What Katie Did.
