What good is the dawn that grows into day
The sunset at night or living this way
For I have the warmth of the sun, within me at night
(Warmth of the sun, within me at night)

A song that melts away with as much spirit as any Beach Boy song...

few people back then knew it was partly written and composed around JFK's assassination. also the incident is nowhere referenced in the lyrics.

Yeah on the subject of underrated...Brian was almost bound to have some songs that have been overlooked, so great was his output. Another suggestion might be that this wasn't as commercial as the big hitters such as California Girls, as well as the fact that it was inspired by the JFK assassination, making for uncomfortable subject matter.????

This song was off the radio plays for some time and is now back. Why was it ever away?

Written the evening of JFK's assassination. I think this song demonstrates the true songwriting genius of Brian Wilson.

I hate to throw around the word underrated but this song is so low on the charts yet I believe it's one of their to tracks and certainly the best that's not on Pet Sounds.
