The diamond necklace played the pawn
Hand in hand some drummed along, oh
To a handsome man and baton

Heard this as a little kid and it stuck. 25 years passed before I heard it again..but I could understand why it stuck. Sublime music.

So much to separate and absorb, like a lonely crab pinching and punching the tidal trash deposited along its surreal expanse of blasted beach.

There is a masterpiece buried somewhere in here... heard it so many ways, and none of them have brought it out, though.

I wish they had finished this song during the Smile-era. The last part was supposed to have strings and stuff. Even if the song is unfinished, it's still their best song. Incredible.

Columnated ruins domino.. What a beautiful song, so emblematic of the grand ambition of Smile and the humongous talent that was involved all around in creating it. BW doesn't really like his solo vocals here, but I think they are just perfect. The Smile Sessions version is THE version as far as I'm concerned.
