“Pet Sounds” is an instrumental composed and produced by Brian Wilson and is the twelfth track on the 1966 album Pet Sounds by the American pop band The Beach Boys. It was performed by Brian and several session musicians, with no other members of the Beach Boys.
Originally called “Run James Run”, Brian intended it to be used as the theme of a James Bond movie.[1]

It was originally intended for a James Bond theme idea, and I can see where that comes from. Instead used under the Pet Sounds project, it works well anyways. I have trouble picturing how the vocals would fit it, but I'm sure we'd all be so curious as to what the result would be. I'm not sure if it holds enough to be put alongside the best of the album, but the whole thing is great. 4.5/5
