I believe Pet Sounds to be their best album, but Sunflower has to be my favorite. The only two I didn't like were "Got to Know the Woman" and "It's About Time", but the rest of the songs more than make up for it.

It wasn't as revolutionary as Pet Sounds but Sunflower is their best work ever.

My favorite The Beach Boys record, also. Bruce Johnston and Dennis Wilson did a great job on this one.

How this album was the Beach Boys' worst charting at the time is beyond me. In my analysis of the songs only two I wasn't able to give 5 stars. That's a better rating than I gave Pet Sounds. I follow this down to personal enjoyment. It's certainly not the Beach Boys most popular work, but I'm happy this stuff hasn't been overplayed. It just made it that much more exciting to find it myself. If you couldn't tell already this album has some of my favorite songs. Pretty much everything is a highlight as any weaker tracks (and that's a short list) would still be a marvel for most groups. 5/5
