This is such a strange album. I listened to Pet Sounds and then this back to back and they could not be further apart from each other. That said, it's a cool record, I can see this one going on some heavy rotation for me.

I don't know, I do not enjoy it too much. Sounds more like they try to do a lot of cool and experimental stuff but lost track of actually having good songs as a basis. Might grow on me but for now I'm disappointed...

Smiley Smile has a very unique atmosphere, so relaxed, fresh and loose, I usually sing along all the way through. It's by all means definitely a strong album

This album is still astonishing. It gives us hints and reminiscences of the magic atmosphere SMiLE would have created, the album which might have been bigger than Sgt Pepper

OH MY GOD the stereo version... I'm gonna now have to rethink some stuff.

My favorite thing about this album is how it was supposed to be a more accessible and palatable version of SMiLE - but turned out to be way weirder instead.

this album is like being held captive by a peppy stranger with multiple personality disorder. and that's why i love it.

IMHO The "Wind Chimes" on SS tops any of the "Smile" versions. The ending is absolutely beautiful!!

if 1967 had been able to embrace the genuine oddities in this album, what might the beach boys have been?
