The Basics, whose musical style could loosely be described as heavily referencing 60s pop and rock (such as The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Kinks etc) with elements of rock ‘n’ roll, reggae and rhythm and blues mixed in,were formed after Kris Schroeder and Wally de Backer met at a party in Melbourne.
