Hailing from Chicago, The Atlas Moth take their bluesy hometown roots and combine that with New Orleans style sludge & 60s psychedelic. Gritty and raw, yet thought out and insightful. If you grew up living in a swamp wearing a Black Sabbath T-Shirt and ate nothing but fried chicken, this is your band.

  • For whatever reason, I kind of ignored Old Believer when it came out, despite having played the first album into the ground when it first came out. I saw Atlas Moth play with Altar of Plagues in Philly a couple of years back and remember being impressed by what I saw despite a lackluster response from the crowd. But for whatever reason (maybe I read a bad review), I had not interest in checking out Old Believer. Now, going back and giving it a listen, I think it's their best album so far. Echoing the sentiment of Meatwad555, the rough hewn and raw vocals add to the sound instead of detract from it. Seems to me they get by on honesty and grit at lest as much, if not more, than on chops. I wouldn't mind hearing them really let it rip on some riff-monsters now and again, but the heavily nuanced and melodic approach is exemplary.
  • Glad Ive been following this guys since the first recording session.
  • dis band mayne
  • It's weird how much hate this band gets for their vocals. There's a lot of classic Black Metal acts with worse screeching but nobody bats an eye at it. Not to mention they're on fucking point live.
  • They are gonna blow the fuck up. Too fucking good.
  • what a band chills me the fuck out
  • The shitty vocals are part of the charm of this band. I wouldn't have it any other way.
  • I dig it.
  • I'm gonna listen to this band after I saw them with Boris and they were great. The Vocals were really cool.
