9 Feb 2007, 05:08 by jPeMelinMute is releasing a fat four disc sampler with all the bands that made them great and who pointed out the way for the developing label.
It contains quite a few tracks of favourite bands that I havent heard before and of the MUTE bands I've known of but never listened to. Though it is at a pretty high box price, and most of the songs I HAVE heard.
It's a hard choice, but I will propably end up seeing it getting out of print, but MAYBE finding it at a great second hand price in ten years or so. :)

10 Oct 2006, 19:02 by kingofgriefI've been seeing this quiz pop up in several journals (most notably Carali's) and I thought I'd drum something up along those lines. Here's how it works:
Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 50 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Italicize the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
I'm narrowing the range in step 1 down to one of my 80s folders in the interest of not getting too obscure and keeping it thematic. Also, if the title appears in whole or in part in the opening line, I skipped it.
Ready? Here goes...
1. The silicon chip inside her head gets switched to overload I Don't Like Mondays
2. Well I woke up this morning I was feeling fine
3. See her laughing, talking, she's walking to the factory
4. So windy and cold
11 Jul 2006, 00:22 by KeithJennerSo, here we are then. It’s taken a while, but finally we’re onto the last 10. The ten artists in my record collection that have the fewest number of listeners on last.fm
Rather than being a list of the dregs of the music world, the list so far has included bands who have recorded some quality music. Generally they have missed out on success through bad luck, bad management and just the simple fact that they haven’t been producing the music that the public (or more accurately, the media) have been interested in at the time.
So far, we’ve had artists who have recorded some of my favourite albums, such as The Wrong People, breaking glass, England, Half English, Black Leather Mojo, Pawn Shop Guitars, Navigating By The Stars, Buffalo Nickel and Turn Me On, Im a Rocket Man. The top 10 continues in the same vein, including a couple of my all time favourites. I feel very sorry for all of you that haven’t had the opportunity to hear them.
7 Jul 2006, 23:36 by KeithJennerWhen looking at other people's profiles on last.fm I'm always struck my the number of bands who I haven't heard of, but who are listened to by a lot of users. It isn't unusual for there to be 50,000 or more listeners to some bands who have managed to escape my notice.
My top artists list is generally populated by bands who have very high numbers of listeners, but I thought it would be interesting to see who doesn't do so well. I went through a list of the artists which I have on my media player and have bought at least one record or CD by (therefore ignoring those just on compilaions) and was surprised by the number who had less than 1,000 listeners. In total I found 70, which represents almost one fifth of the bands on my list.
I'm going to run down those 70 artists in reverse order, a sort of negative chart if you will. The artists included tend to fall into one of three categories. Firstly, there are side projects and solo albums from some better known bands…
