Biography

The American Black Lung is a rock band from Tucson, Arizona. Formed in 2003, it was a chance for a few friends to pay homage to all the bands and musical movements that helped shape the members themselves. Growing up listening to everything from hardcore to sixties-era garage bands to classic rock, the members of The American Black Lung consider themselves connoisseurs of Rock n Roll.

The ABL is not afraid to experiment with their song writing, incorporating as many dynamics as possible while still keeping the underlying theme of raw rock and roll. The musical diversity The American Black Lung displays has worked in their favor greatly. The band is capable of winning crowds over regardless of musical partisanship.

I saw these guys a few years ago in cleveland. The American Black Lung stole the show leaving me hanging with a Bremerton punk band called MxPx. They have some of the best energy and stage presence that I've ever seen.

this band is terribly underrated in the scene, i just do not get it. "Sudden Departure Of Vultures" is such an enjoyable album and is much different than most of the hardcore bands out there. they definitely have a huge Southern rock and garage punk influence to them.
