Been describe before as Pop Rock with Rock punching Pop in the gut, The Alan Smithee Project was a group of a kids who liked changing tempos and bringing emotion with out the pussy ass whining. Inspired by bands far too many to mention, they started a following with their rough raw distortions, clever lyrics with sincere voices and driving rhythms with the intensions to let you know it’s alright to bob your head and dance.
In early 2000, this group and a handful of others were lighting the fuse of putting Johnstown, Pa. on the rock and roll map, showing that regular guys from an industrial town can show rock music unity possibly more than big city scenes. but as said before, all good things have endings. These folk have moved on, grew up and rocked in new groups such as Mid Air Version, Car vs. Pedestrian, A Brand New Jersey, The Sea was Angry that Day My Friend, and Endless Mike and the Beagle Club.
