"The group is well known for its concept albums that cover themes such as Edgar Allan Poe, Gaudi or Freud." In other words from the sublime to the ridiculous, heh.

Sounds a bit like Eloy..but without so much of a fantasy-theme element. Very nice melodies here as well !!

Musical genius's. Loved the way they picked themes, and then wrote the melodies to match the lyrics of they're songs to compliment the entire theme of their album. Put them up there with Beethoven and Mozart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ELO was great too!!!!!! Try listening to some Camel ! You might be surprised at this group as well !

Sure they was, an important step to blend classical orchestral to Rock, a nice early use of synths and electronics into pop, have nostalgic rememberings from I Robot and Pyramid that was also the time of Wish you were here and Animals, AP was so close to Pink floyd. Big hits in early 80' with Turn of a friendly Card, and specially Eye in the Sky like Ammonia Avenue! still like also Vulture Culture... the 90' stuff is very enjoyable too, Try anything once, on Air until the Time Machine. A little less for is very last release, even if it was with David Gilmour, great work anyway, the big heads meeting in the new world marketing area. It's beginning to be hard to be noticed, even for them...

  • shabulia

Their stuff was great in the 70's up to Eye in the Sky. Stereotomy was a mix of good and bad. They got good again in the 90's. Most of their songs would be better suited without the used of a saxophone. It was big for 80's music, but it doesn't fit the style very well with The Alan Parsons Project.
