Tulsa OK, United States

The Agony Scene was a metalcore band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. The band has released three albums, all on different labels. Their first self titled album was released on Solid State Records, their second, The Darkest Red, was released on Roadrunner Records. They are currently on Century Media, who released their latest album, Get Damned. Since Solid State records is generally considered to be a Christian music label, some people have assumed The Agony Scene to be a Christian band. The band has since confirmed in an interview with HM magazine that they are NOT a Christian band. They broke up in 2008, due to financial problems, touring, personal reasons.

Michael Williams-vocal
Ryan Folden-drums
Chris Rye-bass
Chris Emmons-guitar
Brian Hodges-guitar(former bassist)

At least Brent is playing for them again... I assume they dropped their metalcore sound in favor for something more harsh.

I really hope this means more than a just a single reunion show, specially because their original drummer who was in the first 2 albums is a part of the new lineup. Well, it might depend on what the feedback of their reunion show generates..... Either way, i would do anything to just fly from my country to Tulsa just to see these guys.

Their facebook does have a lot of crap on it. And it's been going on for months for a show happening in march. Don't see how this could be just for a one more show after five years or however long it's been. Fuck I'm excited, missed these guys.

According to lambgoat they've announced plans for a reunion show and, apparently, also according to lambgoat, their facebook activity might indicate it's not a one and done thing, they themselves haven't said anything about that part. I was pretty surprised when I read it, really didn't expect them to get back together. I would think they would be doing more than just one show, I mean, why go through all the work. Fantastic news though. yay.

You can look back at the sea of American x-core bands over the last 15 years and some of them stick out as actually pretty fucking good. These guys are one.

v Why would you do something silly like that? I mean, besides being a heroin addict...

I don't think I need to say much about "Get Damned", haha. Even though I can agree that it's the weakest of the 3 albums, it's still fucking solid. Mike did go on to do very different music... almost "country" type stuff, if I'm not mistaken. It's hard to find any information on it. Hell, I had to write the entire Wikipedia page entry on "Get Damned" (yep... 100% me) cause it didn't exist! WTF? I also own the domain, haha. If anyone wants an email, message me or something. Only for those who REALLY want one though, I don't want 500 "yeah, I suppose I might want one"-- hardcore fans only, please. I can set it up to forward to your normal email if you'd like, as well. Too bad these fuckers broke it off... one of my fav bands of all time. Isn't that what happens to all of our fav bands, though? They end up breaking up, while the SHIT music goes on perpetually... isn't Britney Spears STILL making albums after everything that's happened? Point made, right there.

@TheRaptor160893: check a few post below, I posted what Mike's been working on. None of them are involved in a metal band if I'm correct.

These guys helped me bridge the gap between Slipknot and stuff that doesn't suck back in the day. Listening to them again now, they're actually not too bad.
