Chicopee, Massachusetts, US (2001 – present)

The Acacia Strain is a heavy band from Chicopee, Massachusetts, US that formed in 2001. The band have since undergone numerous changes in their lineup. To date, they have released five studio albums, as well as two split albums. The Acacia Strain have said they dislike genre labels, and instead describe themselves as “Heavy.” “You might hear other music that sounds like it, but those bands can’t touch what we have. We have heart. We mean it.” Lyrically, they base their music on “hatred, nihilism, humanity’s dependence on technology, and abhorrence for existence.” Their sound has been compared to Whitechapel, Oceano, Recon, and Emmure.

The current lineup consists of:

Vincent Bennett - lead vocals
Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz - lead guitar, programming, backing vocals
Jack Strong - bass, backing vocals
Kevin Boutot - drums, percussion
Mike Casavant - rhythm guitar (touring member)

    Pathogen, I'm not even a Meshuggah fan and I thought Wormwood was their best album, and that's saying a lot since I've loved every release, even and life is very long.

    no, "Thompson John", i'm not "Kidding You". I find wormwood a chore to listen to. after a few tracks i'm done. haven't given the latest much of a chance so i shouldn't comment on it, but the the former two albums hold your interest, and are just a fuck tonne of fun.

    Are you kidding me? Yes, "The Dead Walk" might as well be a classic at this point, but these guys have been incredibly consistent ever since with each album that came after. "Wormwood" was nothing short of incredible, "Continent" as well and even the latest album is pretty damn good.
