Liverpool, United Kingdom (2007 – present)

“The 10p Mixes are new Liverpool two-piece. They do pretty, pretty songs with a kick and a twist of sadness, sounding both childlike and wry within a single breath. They will play on in your head all week, and you’ll love every minute.” — Pete Green

Danielle and Will met over a shared love of Pulp in 2004, and became friends, then after a while started going out with each other. Both being musically inclined, they started playing music together (because you can’t kiss all of the time). In July 2007, having written six songs together they decided to begin playing in front of people and got a gig in Will’s hometown of St. Helens supporting local band Giant Root Attack.

More gigs followed, which had the band playing gigs as far afield as Liverpool, Manchester, Wigan and Sheffield, and playing with acts such as The Loungs, MJ Hibbett and the Validators, Tom George, The Deirdres, The Waltzers, Nat Johnson and Pete Green. Their most high-profile gig to date was supporting Calvin Johnson on the Liverpool date of his last tour.

They have some lo-fi recordings online on their myspace.com page: www.myspace.com/the10pmixes.

29 Sep 2009 | from blog.myspace.com/the10pmixes

Lots to update on. The 18th was meant to be our gig at the Moorfoot Tavern in Sheffield, but with it being so near to United's ground the police told the venue they'd have to close, due to the risk of. …
