Version 1

The !S.A.D! is a project focused on audiovisual live performances, obscure electronic/electroacoustic music and video digital arts started in 2006.

Behind the scene is Marco Donnarumma, a multimedia artist, producer, live performer and bass player who started experimenting with digital media in 2000.

He is an artistic director/organizer for the international annual event - Live Performers Meeting, one of the broadest meeting dedicated to audiovisual live performances, new electronic sounds and live video.

The !S.A.D! music and videos explore the unexpected relations between analogic sources and extreme digital processing, focusing on DIY hardwares and softwares.
In his works technology disappears to leave space to the human action and its communicativity.

Improvisation is the key and engine of his AV compositions. The result is a compulsive and original blend of different influences, from the no wave scene of the mid-1970’s in New York, trought avant-garde and noise music, to 1980’s industrial experimentations in America, Italy and Germany.
