  • All this talk about charts [rant]

    14 Jun 2006, 16:09 by bigpixels

I bet that when they initially wrote the audioscrobbler code, and eventually, the last.fm engine (yes, I love throwing this term around), nobody could have ever imagined what would come out of it. In fact, this statement would be true for almost anything ever created.. and that includes, of course Coke and Mentos

The visualization of our music, the core of our profile page, the exteriorization of our musical habits, has brought upon a plague of side-effects. It's worrysome, that there is such elitism. Elitism about bands, elitism about non-elitism, and elitism against non-elitism elitism. Just priceless. It's geeks and cool people all over again. Don't get me wrong, it's fun! But it's a whole lot of gaggle-fucking. It's born of charts, and THAT'S funny.

    Fact is.

Everyone's profile is built around much more subtle things that affect simple play count, and all these ignored variables, are spawning equally ignorant rants (such at the one you're reading right now) and groups. …
  • Amazing soundtrack

    11 Jun 2006, 09:48 by FastIkarus

Do you know The Neverhood? You do if you are in Neverhood group, but for others: it is a little old puzzle adventure game for pc. The whole world is made of plasticide. It may look little childish, but it isn't ... Look on wikipedia (link above) for more info.

But why I write this: It has fabulous soundtrack! Terry Scott Taylor put together different sounds, whistles, purr, talking, but also singing and playing instruments and what came out is unrepeatable soundtrack. I can't touch in words this wonderful mix of everything, you have to hear it and more, you have to play the game.

The music, it's just fantastic. You can't put it in some genre (maybe you can say it is , , or.. I don't know), but who cares. It's just music, it entertains, fills empty spaces, makes you full of feelings ... I said I couldn't describe it. But it has something more personal, it is full of memories on my begins with computer games-

  • The Strokes new album

    9 Jan 2006, 17:12 by PorchWhistler

I bought The Strokesnew album "First Impressions of Earth" yesterday, and have allready heard it several times. It is totally awsome music, and the lyrics are cool. Get it.
I'm no old fan of The Strokes, this is my first album by them that I own, so what do you older fans think about it? Is it better or worse than the other albums? Tell me what'ya think about it, folks! :)

And here is a little list of what I'm going to buy in a near future:
    1. Cripple Crowby Devendra Banhart(A really great guitarrist)
    2. Apostrophe by Frank Zappa
3 Pop Culture Assasins by Moral Crux
(That is all I can remember now. Sorry, non-existent but beloved reader.)

!One last thing! If you like "strange" music, and not exactly what they play at your local radiostation, give these bands/artists a try:
Forthgone Times,Terry Scott Taylor,Daniel Amos and of course, allready mentioned, Devendra Banhart.

See ya folks! The day after tomorrow school starts again, and that's a pity. Well, that's life. …
