Biography

Calgary-based musician Metalmaester started the act in 2007 with a few industrial music covers, sound experimentation and local noise show performances but did not produce anything major until 3 years later.

In 2010, Tekhnotron was fully active and working on music material, until, keyboardist Josh Krahn joined the project. He has played at live shows and contributed to songwriting in the studio. In 2011, Rissy - talented graphic artist and classically trained pianist/singer - also became part of the band. As a result, Tekhnotron finally established its musical character.

Later in 2011, Josh left the band making it a duo. The duo released debut EP “Essence of Machines” in 2012. In June 2012, Tekhnotron performed at Terminus festival - the only industrial and dark music festival in western Canada.

Before playing another bulk of concerts in late 2012, the formation became a trio again, as David Luecke - another contributor and talented web developer and piano player joined forces with Tekhnotron. The culmination of two years of work, collaboration and evolution has brought a self titled mini album. This release blends a cocktail of music genres, noise and experimentation in five tracks, the combination of old and new, dance tracks and sonic complexity with melodic singing.

In early 2014, experienced drummer Colin Christopher joined the project, bringing his own booking and promotional network.

Working on newer, more experimental material now, Tekhnotron defies all genre differences and transcends different styles.
