Cobrastyle (2:59)
From Fresh! and 5 other releases
“Cobrastyle” is a single performed by Teddybears featuring Mad Cobra. Cobrastyle uses the piano riff from “Good Thing” by Fine Young Cannibals, and uses elements from Erick Sermon’s “Bomdigi” and Sugar Hill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight”. It also features a prominent musical line, reminiscent of The 5.6.7.8’s cover of the Ikette’s song I’m Blue. Mad Cobra performs the same rap as on his own song “Press Trigger”, released in 2001.
The track was also covered by Robyn on her 2006 EP The Rakamonie EP, and is also featured on the international edition of her self-titled album Robyn. Her cover was number 61 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Best Songs of 2008.
