This was the first album released by Teddy Pendergrass after leaving Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Released by Philadelphia International in 1977it was distributed by CBS Records. Recorded at Sigma Sound Studios Philadelphia Pa it followed the similar Philadelphia International format of having several producers/producer groups. in this instance Gamble and Huff produced 4 tracks, Whitehead, McFadden & Castarphen produced 3 tracks and Sherman Marshall produced the highly successful “The Whole town’s Laughing At Me”.
