Biography

Theodore Anthony “Ted” Nugent (born December 13, 1948) (aka “The Nuge”, “Motor City Madman”, “Uncle Ted” or just plain Ted) is a guitarist from Detroit, Michigan.

He originally gained fame as a guitarist for the The Amboy Dukes, a psychedelic rock band from the late 60’s best known for their hit “Journey to the Center of Your Mind”. In the 70’s he went solo and had a string of hits including “Stranglehold”, “Free For All”, “Dog Eat Dog”, “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang” and perhaps his best known song “Cat Scratch Fever”.

In the 80’s he even tried his hand at acting in a haunting episode of television’s “Miami Vice”. In 1989, he joined Tommy Shaw of Styx, Jack Blades of Night Ranger, and Michael Cartellone to form Damn Yankees, which produced 1990’s chart toppers “Come Again” for Billboard’s #1 and rock ballad “High Enough”, backed by a string section in the studio and a popular video, reaching #3 on U.S. Hot 100, and #2 on AOR charts. More recently he has gained fame (and notoriety) for his support of hunting and his conservative political views. He is an important member of the NRA (National Rifle Association). He’s written four books and released multiple studio albums.

Besides a regular reality type show on cable showcasing Ted’s outdoorsman skills, his most recent foray in music was a reality television show SuperGroup that resulted in a band called Damnocracy. The band’s other members were Sebastian Bach (formerly of Skid Row), Scott Ian (Anthrax) Jason Bonham (“Bonham”, son of Zeppelin’s John Bonham) and Evan Seinfeld (Biohazard).

@SovietRadio- I am not one much for violence or dead children obviously nobody does, but that is coming from a guy who is displaying the goddamn COMMUNIST flag, when Stalin was in office there were dead children on the streets to, yeah look at the Boston Bombing, even with no guns these nuts still find ways of doing this shit. Guns don't provoke violence, stupid people do, and most of these shootings have indeed occured in gun-free zones-Colerado's theater shooting for example, so stop rambling about guns and start rambling about stupidity, poverty, and mental nut-cases that aren't locked in jail where they belong.

@kayto1996 and @BamBam__ why don't you discuss about your political issues in your own pages at your own Shoutboxes or why don't use your personal messages Inbox and Outbox??? On the other hand @BamBam__ you violated the The Last.fm Community Guidelines too. >> "There is zero tolerance for predatory behavior, disparaging or defamatory comments, threats, harassment, illegal activities, invading privacy, propaganda, racial hatred, offensive cultural behavior, vulgar or obscene content, or other inappropriate behavior or the revealing of other members' personal information."

one last point on the three hundred old patriots bill , are you arguing that the bill is out dated and there fore not relevant, coz if you are then the same would go for all the customs and religions out there ,all being older than that. plus many other basic rights. just because its old doesn't make it irrelevant. go back to the greeks and the discovery of maths, archimedes principles, newtons laws and a whole lot of others still apply today. there is nothing to say that the patriots act no longer applies to our modern times for the majority of americans if that's how they want to keep things, and who are we to say they are wrong . nugent is using the political process the same as any of the other parties.

too take the point of promoting war whilst being a draft dodger- does this mean that only those who fight in wars should have an opinion?to take up ali's position, the cynic in me believes he used the muslim religion to beat his draft, but he had a very valid point of why should he fight for a country that as a black man treated him like dirt(though not good enough to avoid a draft) .but then should he have been allowed to benefit from the that countries economy etc (as he did) when he was not prepared to fight for it. it's not black and white and if you give him the doubt then it follows that nugent should get the same treatment.anyhoo one last point at least ted hasn't got an army to do his dirty work, and it's those who have that i would worry about

i thought this was a debate , not an argument, your interpretation may be based on your previous insults? any hoo when your own political beliefs get destroyed by the very people your supporting showing there true political agenda's you maybe a little more forgiving to those who disagree with you

well sorry i agree with the iraq war and believe that the western influence will bring the ordinary people a fairer deal in life regardless of the political reasons behind the 'invasion'.the country is full of religious bigots who hide behind their religions to do their evil much the same as the catholic church.as for the political marches against it here in england well we need people to be worrying about what happens here. fox may well be politically bias but i've watched the flag burners and the foreign reports on the news while working in various peoples homes and they are just as bias .there seems little respect for moderate views today and that generally is the most common one.you are correct we will never agree .as to his influence well its not anywhere near what you think it is because western culture is not the same,we do have more freedom of choice and aren't threatened with bodily harm when we don't conform, not the same in iraq, saddams ethnic cleansing etc?

I really don't think we are ever going to agree on this argument. I agree that there's huge Political apathy in Britain, who can blame us? All the Parties are cheeks of the same arse, much like America. I disagree about the Poll Tax riots being the last protest, thousands marched in London against the Iraq War, of course they ignored everyone and did it anyone. Ted Nugent does have influence though, he is sent constantly by the ridicolous Fox News to cover various Political events in America, and as a credible Musician (argubly) he will vastly sway the opinions of the many brainless hicks who take Fox News as a legitimate news outlet. He warrant my hatred because the man is as much a part of Americas problems as anyone else, he threatends the President because the Amerixan people decided they'd prefer Obama to Romney, he constantly promotes Gun rights without a second thought about any of the vicitms and he promotes War while being a draft dodger, the guys scum
