Ted hails from Long Island, then Buffalo, New York, where he discovered his fondness for chicken wings and his hatred for the cold. Ted perfected his flashy guitar riffs while performing with the band, Pepperwood Greene in the Western New York Area during the late ‘70’s. Playing mostly original songs by Ted and the other members of the band. Ted also loves playing bass guitar, harmonica into a Shure SM58, and singing in the shower, singing anywhere for that matter. Today, his instruments of choice are a red Fender Strat and a seasoned Martin D-28. Now with his new digital studio Ted is also having a great time as an engineer. His musical styles tend to run from blues to pop to country. But mostly, Ted’s writing influences come from traditional music like John Prine and Steve Goodman, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, groups like The Beatles (big surprise there), the Doors, and Eric Clapton. His songs are also characterized by his mutual respect for great performing acts like Little Feat and Moody Blues. However, musical influences as diverse as Frank Zappa and The Eagles are also incorporated into many of Lehman’s songwriting efforts.

Artist History
Ted Lehman has been writing & playing music for most of his life. In the seventies he fronted a band called “”Pepperwood Greene”“. Based out of Buffalo NY, PG was a vehicle for songwriters to produce their music. In the 6 years that PG existed, over 25 artists and songwriters participated. Sometimes gigs were for the entire ensemble in major clubs in western NY and sometimes the group would work folk and acoustic clubs, with out drums, or bass, or other PG members, depending on the venue and the fee.
