• dead fingers / the deep dark woods

  • Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Jenny Lewis @ Showbox at the Market

Sun 26 Oct – Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Jenny Lewis

As I lifelong fan of Bright Eyes (or at least as long as the band has been around... circa 1998ish), Conor Oberst has been on my list of artists to see for quite some time. I truly do feel a little bit more complete now that I have experienced this performance live, but in retrospect, I am basically devastated that I have never driven 400 miles out of my way to see him before.

But let me begin at the beginning. I just got back from a summer in Europe and buying a pre-sale ticket to this concert was the first purchase I made when I returned. I was excited anyway, but even more pleased when I found out that Jenny Lewis would be the opening act. For those of you who know of her, isn't she the most adorable thing you've ever seen? For those of you who haven't, look up a picture of her right now and be won over be her charm. :: Personally, I think Conor Oberst has been. There's definitely a crush going on there... ::

  • The Death Machine?

Saw Taylor Hollingsworth at Studio A, Miami this tuesday. Unfortunatelly there where very few people who attended. Must have been the elections.. ¿? Anyways, whatever it was, nobody told the band about that because they rocked like if it was their last show. They played under the name The Death Machine or something like that or they have recently changed their name. I didn't know them but bought the CD, liked them a lot.

Following them played The Detroit Cobras, they sounded good but the lack of audience frustrated and the whole show wasn't very good.
