Tarannà is a jazz septet that plays songs, a brave projecte with no stylistic frontiers. As happened in the early 1970’s in Barcelona music scene (Ona Laietana), they try hard to experiment with music and sounds. This is completely free music, always faithful to imagination and emotion. Music that must be listened with all five senses, that has nothing to do with ringtones.

Tarannà’s first record, “Senyals de vida” (“Sings of life”) is a surprising journey. Brazil appears in “Te i cafè”, while “Pa amb tomata” is an ode to little daily things. “Recepta dels àngels” links soul and magic. And there are lots of surprises: Who dares to cover, in the same record, both La Polla Records and Erik Satie?

Saxo-player Sisu Coromina is the composer, producer and band leader of Tarannà. He’s been involved in several bands (Cachomundo, Mazoni, At Versaris, Sanjosex, Discípulos de Otilia and specially Cheb Balowski, touring all around Europe) but now he’s focusing all his talent in Tarannà.

In Tarannà, Sisu has joined some young and emerging musicians from Barcelona boiling jazz scene. Among them, there shine’s Sabina Witt’s sensitive voice.

As Sisu Coromina tells, the key of his music is “to be honest with yourself artistically, without feeling any shame at all. I need to improve my musical roots, irrigate them, take care of them…
