Biography

“Tansu picked up his instrument at the age of 14. As a totally self-taught player; he sharpened his skills by playing with many local bands throughout his teen years. Although he quit playing for about 2 years while majoring in political science, it didn’t take long for him to realize that he has the heart of an artist so he decided to pursue music as a career. At the end of 2009, Tansu moved from his homeland Turkey to USA to follow his dreams in music and started a new life. After a long period of struggle and hard times, he eventually emerged as a sought after bassist in Houston and shared the stage with some of the best musicians in town during his 2 years there. On November 2011, Tansu moved to Los Angeles where he currently performs at the jazz clubs in town with his quartet. His highly acclaimed debut album “Afraid of What?” was released on October 26, 2011 and is available on iTunes, Cdbaby, Amazon and all the other online music stores…”
