Yikes. I think I was a little disappointed with the album on first hearing, but it's grown on me in a big way. In particular, I can't get Idolatryout of my head, and Murmurations is beautiful. Plus, the drums in Oscar. Saw them last night in Cheltenham, and that was probably the highlight. Vessels, oddly and sadly, was rubbish though.
I can see where you're coming from @nikabee. While it doesn't really feel like the tall ships I first enjoyed, it's got its own feeling which I think is okay. Although I kind of predicted this after hearing their second ep. I was always hoping they'd take the band into more of Beanieandogdger direction. Oh well.... dolla dolla billz y'all.
I hate the album! I bought it today and it realy sucks, never been so disappointed and fucked off by an album i looked forward to. Before this they sounded more lively and they did something beautiful to my heart. I'm so angry about the new versions, they're like a plasticbag over my head while I'm dancing! Don't want to sound like a stupid hater, but this makes me sad and freaks me out at the same time.
Everything Touching is everything I wanted from this album. the re-recorded tracks sound brilliant, especially Ode To Ancestors is now no longer my least favourite song by them. Murmuration floored me completely.
Any Tall Ships lovers might be interested to know that they will be headlining the friday night at this awesome three day musical event, The Unorthodox Paradox, held in beautiful woodland on the banks of Lake Windermere. Weekend tickets are only £50 including camping, and there are loads of other killer bands on over the weekend. Check the website for more details!
