The song “Talk Talk” was the signature for that band whose first album “the Party’s Over”. The lyrics could be of romantic irreconcilable differences or possible infidelity or what it might be by the listeners perception. The musical tone is heavy with a “Synthesized-pop” beat which was ‘tres chic’ for the era did leave you wanting for more of the percussion and bass because they were noteworthy to the song’s richness. The vocalist sings clearly with a slight tremolo where it would fits holds prominences throughout. The video for that track was the first for the band-“Talk Talk’‘. It reflected the overly clean, polished styling and a surrealistic/theatric format serve as a backdrop for the musicians. There were two different version of this video. One with just the musicians and the other with silent supporting performers (extras). There is a distinct sense that the conceptual idea for the video was to have the extra performers to have either “mouth-less faces that communicated through sign language of some form” or were “faceless except for an exaggerated mouths exercising semaphore”. The ‘mouth-less face’ occurs again in a later video for “It’s My Life”. All the same the band’s performance interesting if not fascinating inconsequential of the video’s secondary devices.
