I remember when the Laughing Stock and The Spirit of Eden Lps came out. I was absolutely astounded by both of those LP's This song is incredible and more so when you realize when it was recorded. This band was Lightyears ahead of any other band that could jokingly be called a Peer . This music is very similar to a college genius at age 8 . It was all new... They couldn't copy anyone because no other band was this advanced . I have never heard such a depressing but beautiful song , that was loaded with emotion and hope as this song is. The minimalist undertaking on these LP's was very refreshing compared to the other stuff that was out there . Even their early albums were ahead of the curve. I love to spend the time to play each LP back to back in order . To listen to them like that, is to experience a true progression in music and emotion.. One Of My Top 5 favorite bands of all time...
