While crossing live rock shows and DJ sets, often times with the music synced to movies, TV Movie’s performances are energetic sonically and visually. Best described as indie post-punk electro-rock, the trio combines original electronic drum beats spun on turntables with poppy/melodic synthesizer riffs, rockin’ guitar rhythms, groovin’ bass lines, and Ian Curtis/Jarvis Cocker like-style vocals over top. Imagine Joy Division meets Paul Oakenfold!

TV Movie is composed of James Amos (vocals, keys and guitar), Tim Ball (bass, backing vocals and guitar) and Hugo Nida (turntables, keyboard, and guitar). The idea of TV Movie started in 2008 while in Austin, TX, but has grown and matured in the North Central Ohio area.

Although his love for techno and electronica music is great, TV Movie front man, James Amos, often finds himself disappointed after seeing electronic music groups do nothing on stage but stand in front of boxes, twist knobs and press buttons. Let down in the lack of stage energy of these electronic music acts, James formed TV Movie to bring energy back to the electronic stage.

TV Movie has been almost two decades in the making. The founding member and singer/ guitar player, James Amos, has been playing guitar in bands and producing music all the way from the Midwest to Texas for the past eighteen years. James was born and raised in Mansfield, OH and has lived in such music influential cities such as Austin, Nashville, and London. It was during his stay in London in the late nineties that he gained his love for electronic and techno music.
