Version 1

TS Brooks has called Berlin residence for the better part of one year. The California born singer/songwriter first toured Germany in 2009 after the release of his debut solo album, ‘Tertiary Allotment Is A Delightfulness’ (Snowstorm Music), and hasn’t stopped since. Having now included to the list Spain, England, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, Brooks continues to tour relentlessly while writing songs for a new album to be recorded later this year.

In his erstwhile project, Minmae, who recorded 10 full-length albums in as many years, Brooks mixed Byrds-like jangle-pop with sonic detours into psych, drone, and experimentalism. Brooks’ new music virtually eschews all instrumentation, and his live shows are intimate and sincere, imposing focus on the stories, recollections, observations, and appeals that make up his lyrical universe. Hinting at Americana and modern folk, his voice straddles somewhere between Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Townes Van Zandt, and and the late Vic Chesnutt.

Having recently recorded two new albums in San Diego, California - one, a 4-song vinyl ep to be released on House of Plenty, and the other, Brooks’ sophomore effort, tentatively titled, ‘Songs: Chiefly Lyrical,’ TS now prepares for Spring and Summer touring with highlights including this year’s Fusion Fest as well as finding a vibrant label to release and promote his new record.
