One of the most beautiful songs ever. A good slap in the face to those who try to claim Marc wasn't a true poet, or wrote "sleazy" fluff. There's such a sense of longing (or "darkness and dismay", as Bowie put it) in all of his music (even the upbeat numbers, in their own Blake-like, candy-coated way), and "Monolith" is one of those it's most clear/obvious in.
