Praha, Czech Republic (1977 – present)

Törr is a black/thrash metal band from the Prague, Czech Republic, formed in 1977, and still going strong. Regarded by many as the fathers of metal, they have influenced a many other Czech bands.

Originally their name was simply Torr like the old pressure unit. In 1981 they changed their name to Törr, inspired by the name of Motörhead. Törr also means “lame” in slang , but this very probably wasn’t intended.

Their first albums prior to Morituri Te Salutant are very inspired by the style as played by Venom. Their last albums as from Made in Hell are more towards the modern style. Meanwhile when they were playing with Roman Izaiáš and Petr Vajda (both in Doga) they were playing a more style.

    Tak jasně, on se pojem BM dost posunul za těch 25 let :) Nakonec ale stejně jako třeba thrash... do kteréž škatulky bych jejich novější tvorbu klidně zařadil. Starší věci jsou často tak trochu každý pes jiná ves, ale holt český metal 80. let :)
