About this album

Hello Hurricane is the seventh studio album from alternative rock band Switchfoot, and the first of four albums produced in the same sessions. It was co-produced by the band and Mike Elizondo, after initial test runs with producers such as Ken Andrews and Charlie Peacock. The album was recorded mainly in their studio in their hometown of San Diego, California. It was originally to be released on October 6, 2009, but it was pushed back to November 10, 2009 on their independent record label, the Atlantic-distributed lowercase people records.

this album is so beautiful. I think it's my favourite, actually. I had the privilege of seeing Switchfoot perform this entire album live and it was just so powerful. <33 ahh.

Oh Gravity grew on me and I think this album is better overall. Growing on me too. Amazing lyrics. Some hit the heart.

They finally seem to have some energy after seemingly being on autopilot since Beautiful Letdown.

Flows well. The slower, more ambient songs are better than some of the more upbeat guitar driven ones, but overall one of my fav records of 09. Not their most solid lyrically or musically but definitely highly emotional and weighty.

Fipi3, I feel likewise. For me, this and Flyleaf's new album were surprisingly good, and offset the terrible disappointment that was Skillet's Awake. Not a bad year after all for Christian rock in my books. :)

So good! I think it's my fave of theirs (and that's saying something because I freakin LOVE New Way to Be Human and The Beautiful Letdown a lot).

Great album! The style is a little different in this one, but not in a bad way. Overall I like it better than Oh! Gravity (but not quite as much as Nothing is Sound).
