Perfect song. ♥ Just wish it was longer.

Cut down the preacher, he just lies; burn all the books that closed my mind; destroy it all, it's all untrue...

The "tape hiss" renders this recording more "real" and intimate. Just Gira and his acoustic guitar; telling it like it is. Besides, is there really anything more true? I've always felt that alcohol was my only cure, but when it comes down to it; nothing will ever save me from the bottom of my glass!

Yeah, there's way more tape hiss on this than anything else on the album. I've just always assumed that it was a demo that Gira preferred to any "proper" versions with the full band.

One of my all time favorite songs. I wish I knew more history on it. Why/how it was recorded. Seems to have lots of background noise? Anyway, love it.
