Possibly a little basic/lacking nuance, but it basically sounds like a Sonic Youth song being dragged through the depths of hell... what's not to love?!
The lyrics may lack subtlety but I still like them tbh
This and Mother/Father is so EVOL. Great stuff.
The lyrics are are clearly not subtle enough
Is this a Sonic Youth song?
lifestyleeeeeeees of the rich and famousssssss
I don't think the song is poor, but it's mediocre in comparison to what Gira is capable of
v Kristman slightly resembles a young Gira
The Swans and Sonic Youth toured together in 1982 and both were signed on Glenn Branca's "Neutral Records" label. You can see a lot of Branca's influence in both bands. The vocal styles of both bands are also similar.
The lyrics may not be the best, but this song fucking hurts...
Not my favorite Swans track. I agree with you guys that the lyrics aren't the best...

for some reason this song makes me instantly think of the word "boogie". dunno why. i guess it's one hell of a boogie.
Pretty damn rockin'.
Some of Mean Monster Mike's most inane lyrics!
Gira's voice sounds so good here, I could just kiss his dirty little mouth.
Can definitely hear a bit of Sonic Youth in this.
like a drug addiction
The lyrics are brilliant, more relevant now than ever.
And her celebrity mouth is the perfect image of the end of time. Yes.
actually, i love it just for the lyrics. he speaks the truth, and i can understand that he is quite pissed.
I love Swans, but these lyrics are a fucking joke.
fuck I just realized how amazing Gira's voice is in this one.
good stuff...one of my least faves on the album though, to be honest
simple amazing & beauti song....
gira is just pissed because MTV didn't give Swans much airtime, true story
do you reckon it's specifically about a real person that Gira knew? Nine Inch Nails did something similar with "Starf**kers Inc", I seem to remember...
Probably the best alternative rock song ever recorded.
lol @ stevehazzard
I remember playing this for friends in high school, one of the girls I was playing it for went "wait...did he just say 'ties her naked children up with wire and lace'???"
..bring the noise project!!
i am addicted
