Swahili Blonde, the new musical endeavor of Nicole Turley (ex-drummer and vocalist of WEAVE!) mixes Raincoat-style noodlings with an early 70’s Kraut-rock tone, reminiscent of Can or Faust. The debut single ”Elixor Fixor”, which features John Frusciante on guitar and Laena Myers-Ionita on violin, will be released digitally on Manimal Vinyl late November 2009, followed by a CD-EP/12”, Man Meat, on July 6, 2010.

  • nice chaotic hardcore
  • I don't think I'd ever buy this (Nicole and John don't need the money let's face it) but it is definitely worth a listen on Spotify. Several listens on Spotify. I have sent a high-five across the pond to John.
  • What a band! They definitely should be knwn more! (yes, John's taste is excellent)
  • Got kinda dissapointed with John's new EP (except for In Your Eyes - I totally love this song), but discovered this awesome band among with Warpaint. John has exceptional taste in music AND women!
  • love the new album.
  • great band!
  • Soooo good!
  • swahili blonde sounds pretty counterintuitive, but that's their charme! music for musicians i guess.
  • you could probably say the same thing about warpaint with emily kokals association with john
  • the only reason a few people even know about them is because of john, and this is really inaccessible stuff...
