With Breakfast in America, Supertramp had a genuine blockbuster hit, topping the charts for four weeks in the U.S. and selling millions of copies worldwide; by the 1990s, the album had sold over 18 million units across the world. Although their previous records had some popular success, they never even hinted at the massive sales of Breakfast in America. Then again, Supertramp's earlier records weren't as pop-oriented as Breakfast. The majority of the album consisted of tightly written, catchy… read more

One of the best classic albums. Also one of the most under-appreciated.

One of my desert island albums, and one of the best pop albums ever made. Supertramp is the owner of the genre Progressive-Pop by default. "The Logical Song" is one of the most perfect pop songs ever recorded, still with a relevant meaning."Lord Is It Mine" is Roger at his most spiritual, this masterpiece has it all.

"HOW the hell did it take me so long to realise that the waitress on the cover is a parody of the Statue of Liberty?" God knows, but I never noticed either. I just thought that it was a normal sized woman flying in the air.

My dad loved and still loves this band, and therefore I've listened to Supertramp since I was a little kid. Great band with many memorable and catchy tunes.

Breakfast in America is still alive nowadays, and not only because the songs includes in this album are great. We are very lucky to can enjoy Roger Hodgson on stage, performing all his classics from this album, as "The Logical Song", "Breakfast In America","Take The Long Way Home", "Lord Is It Mine", "Child Of Vision" and many more. If he plays by your area, you don't want to miss him, it's really worth, because a Roger concert is an astonishing experience. I've seen so many shows in my life, but what I feel in a Roger show is unique, I haven't seen ever such a communication between an Artist and his audience, as Roger does, all the feelings you can experienced: It's a thrill, a blast, chills and goosebumps, all at the same time...

I clearly remember as if it were yesterday that I would play my Breakfast in America vinyl over and over. I found myself drawn to the songs from the band's co-founder, Roger Hodgson. I later found out that although Roger and Rick shared writing credit on all songs, they actually wrote and composed separately and each of them sang the songs they wrote. Imagine what a blessing it was for me when 30 years later I was able to see Roger in concert for the first time. It was as if I was listening to my vinyls all over again except he actually sounded better live, if that's possible! His voice is incredible and what a sweet change it is to see an artist who is smiling and obviously enjoying himself. I have now seen Roger six times and each show is unique and special in its own way. Don't hesitate to see Roger Hodgson, Supertramp's voice and singer/songwriter of their greatest hits. I can't wait to see him again. See all of his tour dates on Events at
