Supernova Scotia play a blend of electro-pop, surf and lots of zouk. Originally a moniker for David Sheenan’s bedroom-produced tunes, Supernova Scotia became a full band in 2007 with the addition of Niall O’Regan (AKA Pello - Bass, Keys), John Prendergast (AKA Not a Polymath - Guitar, Keys), Peter Lawlor (Guitar, Bass) and Neil Quigley (AKA Jazz Panda - Drums, Guitar).

Their first gig was playing support to Queen Kong and they have since played with Waiting Room, Somadrone, Cars in Walls, New Amusement, Ponomika, The Funeral Suits, Grand Pocket Orchestra and You’re Only Massive. The future is looking bright for Supernova Scotia with plenty more recordings on the way. Amongst other things, Supernova Scotia like walks in the park, sunny days, the sweet sounds of the Jackson 5 and Earl Grey tea.

Influences include:
Yellow Magic Orchestra, Brian Wilson, Orange Juice (Edwyn Collins), Department of Eagles, Lambchop, Calexico, Kate Bush, Devo, Sparklehorse, Fleetwood Mac, The Smiths, Joe Meek, and Pixies.
