I am willing to admit that I didn't quite give this once a chance. It's a very good album.

If Phantom Power doesn't engage then you're not listening to the lyrics! The problem with Love Kraft for the casual listener is that there isn't quite enough about it musically to compensate for the absence of hooks. It's an album you have to familiarize yourself with to love. It peaks in the middle-late stages.

This is my fav SFA album too. The amount of stylistic variability is extraordinary and the production is flawless. I hardly EVER listen to Phantom Power, tbh. Very little on it engages me at all.

except for the fact that it's far less unwieldy - but fair enough. Guerrilla has vocal depth and maturity in spades - it's just a different type of maturity, heh... all of their calling cards are there.

The vocals on Phantom Power are pretty damn formidable too! Sex, War & Robots is exquisite...

Radiator is great for what it is though – superior britpop with a lot of wit and more importantly a steady grower. If you want more delicately poised concept drenched songs with slowly drawn out melodies that's fine but it doesn't mean one style is better than the other. I suppose it can depend on what era you prefer from SFA but we can be objective too. I don’t want to shortchange this brilliant band, I adore them, but I think they peaked very early… Phantom Power is more than just a transitional album – it’s the moment when Rhys' despair with the way the world is going finally comes to the fore and one of their best efforts to date. I’ll give Love Kraft another listen regardless; perhaps I have relegated it a little unfairly but I doubt it will scream growth to me musically – even if the song structures are tweaked ever so slightly…

strangely it's hard to argue with this being their best album. it's got everything in line. i really love everything they've done on about the same keel. it's all good shit, every single moment of it. but depends on my mood. they're so fucking postmodern i could shed tears at how cool they are in the right frame of mind. Some days it's Guerrilla for the electronic bombastic super alien hardcore psychedelia. Some days it's Radiator for the hard edged absolutely joyous 90s psychedelia. Some days it's Rings Around the World for the sheer 'Canon'-esqueness of the whole thing. It's just so perfect. Today it's probably all of them. Love Kraft is definitely the one which took longest to make sense, but make no mistake --===--- it makes sense!!!!!!!!!! AND IT RULES

First album I listened to by SFA, and still favorite. Beautifully arranged. Rings Around the World is a close second. Easily accessible, you have a simple mind if you have to listen to it multiple times. My 15 year old sister heard me play, ONCE, and asked for the album. Can't imagine what you peasants think when you listen to Enjoy Your Rabbit or Wonderful Rainbow. Never mind. Just get out your Raffi and leave those albums to the adults. And fuck Citizen Kane.

I first saw the Furries in 1996 when you would have been what, about 9? So I think I'm perfectly entitled to an opinion on the album. I can see from our charts that if I have poor taste, you similarly have poor taste. Looks like we have fairly good taste I'd say. Still, each to their own!

thank you for this. I just wanted some shred of proof that that awful gremlin once existed... he loved Love Kraft to the point of contention. I once told him my favourite Madonna song was Material Girl and he called me a liar.

this one requires time to grow more than the other ones (for me at least) but once it does grow on you... it's really really great
