There is more than one artist with this name:
1) Sundowner is the solo acoustic project of Chris McCaughan, the guitarist and quieter, more melodic singer of Chicago punk trio The Lawrence Arms. He has also played in The Broadways and Tricky Dick. Sundowner's debut album, named Four One Five Two after the address of Chris' childhood home, was released March 13, 2007 on Red Scare. It features Jenny Choi (cello, keys, vocals) and fellow Lawrence Arm Neil Hennessy (acoustic bass), who also mixed the album.
2) Sundowner was a screamo band from Switzerland. The band consisted of members from Profax and Mine, and later went on to play in Blue Water Boy, Crush My Calm, and Mr. Willis of Ohio. They released one 7", one full-length, and a split with The Last Forty Seconds.
3) Sundowner is a psychedelic rock band from Manchester, U.K. Originally forming as a duo in 2002 and growing to six in 2007, Sundowner’s sound has grown up from humble beginnings to a full on live act.
Late 2007 saw the release of their debut album "Sundowner" on Magnatune. The album was whittled down from hours of improvised "jams" and crafted into "songs". The album shape shifts between stoner rock, krautrock jams, drones and shoegaze sessions - always with a liberal dose of psycheldelia.
For the sake of accurate genre and artist tagging, this particular Sundowner has a duplicate artist profile under "Sundowner (Manchester)".
